Explosion at Abandoned Gas Station in Mykolaiv Injures Police Officers

An explosion occurred at an inactive gas station in Mykolaiv on February 23, resulting in injuries to seven officers from the Patrol Police Department.

The incident took place at approximately 6:10 PM, according to the head of the National Police, Ivan Vihivskyi.

Vihivskyi reported that the officers were on duty change and had parked their vehicles at the site when the explosion happened. Two of the injured are in serious condition, and medical personnel are currently fighting for their lives.

In light of this event, Vihivskyi referenced a previous attack on police in Lviv, indicating that authorities view these incidents as targeted efforts to destabilize the country.

On February 22, a similar attack occurred in Lviv, where explosions resulted in the death of a 23-year-old police officer and injuries to 25 others. The Security Service of Ukraine stated that the blasts happened shortly after patrol units arrived at the scene of a call.

A 33-year-old woman from the Rivne region has been detained as a suspect in connection with the Lviv explosions.

An explosion at an abandoned gas station in Mykolaiv injured seven police officers, with two in critical condition. This incident follows a recent attack on police in Lviv, raising concerns about targeted violence against law enforcement in Ukraine.
