Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, announced the arrival of a delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Kyiv. This visit coincides with significant dates for Ukraine, underscoring the ongoing geopolitical situation.
Stefanchuk shared insights from his recent trip to Vienna, where he met with PACE President Petra Bayr. During this meeting, they discussed the current security landscape in Ukraine and emphasized the need for enhanced sanctions against Russia. He also highlighted the importance of establishing a Special Tribunal to hold Russia accountable for its actions.
“Such meetings are crucial for aligning positions on key decisions, from peace to reconstruction. Together, we are stronger, and our alliances in the region must continue to strengthen,” Stefanchuk remarked.
Additionally, the Speaker of the Polish Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, has also arrived in Kyiv. This visit aligns with the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, during which the Council of Europe plans to conduct various events to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The visit of the PACE delegation to Kyiv highlights ongoing discussions regarding security and accountability for Russia's actions. Ukrainian leaders are advocating for stronger sanctions and international cooperation in response to the conflict.
