Ukraine has announced new sanctions targeting 46 Russian nationals, two Iranian citizens, and 44 Russian companies linked to the military-industrial complex of Russia. This move aims to disrupt the supply chains that support military operations against Ukraine.
The sanctions specifically target individuals and companies involved in the supply, development, manufacturing, and repair of military technology, including electronic warfare equipment and spare parts for Russia’s defense sector.
Products from these entities are reportedly utilized in the production of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as combat and reconnaissance drones, firearms, and ammunition.
Among the sanctioned Iranian nationals are two individuals implicated in the illicit supply of aviation parts and components, circumventing existing sanctions. Their activities reportedly support the Iranian Aviation Industry Corporation, a partner of Russia in the development and production of Shahed drones, which are already under sanctions imposed by Ukraine, the United States, Switzerland, and New Zealand.
Ukraine's latest sanctions target individuals and companies from Russia and Iran involved in military supply chains. This action reflects ongoing efforts to hinder military capabilities amid the conflict.
