Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held discussions with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, resulting in a series of agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
Zelensky stated that both countries are committed to collaborating in order to improve security and development opportunities for their societies. The leaders addressed various topics, expressing a mutual interest in sharing experiences.
“We discussed the situation in the region and prospects for positive change. We also addressed the circumstances surrounding Russia’s war against Ukraine, and I am grateful for the support. There is significant interest in exchanging military and security experiences. I appreciate the respect shown towards our people,”
the Ukrainian president noted.
Additionally, the leaders touched upon Ukraine’s role as a reliable supplier of agricultural products. In this context, they explored joint opportunities to strengthen regional capabilities.
“We fully understand the energy and infrastructure challenges Syria is currently facing. We are prepared to work together to enhance the capabilities of our states and peoples,”
Zelensky added.
The recent meeting between Ukraine and Syria has led to agreements focused on security, development, and agricultural cooperation, reflecting both nations' commitment to mutual support amid regional challenges.
