Ukrainian military units are actively countering Russian efforts to seize control of the village of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region. Despite ongoing assaults, Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground and disrupting enemy plans.
Reports indicate that Russian forces are attempting to fully capture the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. However, Ukrainian troops are maintaining established positions on the northern outskirts of these areas.
“The occupiers are also trying to take complete control of the settlement of Hryshyne. Our units are holding designated lines, conducting active search-and-strike operations in Hryshyne, and thwarting attempts by the enemy to occupy the settlement,” the military statement noted.
Additionally, Ukrainian defenders are employing drones to target Russian positions in the northwestern part of Pokrovsk. According to the Eastern military grouping, this area is being used by Russian troops as a staging ground for accumulating personnel ahead of further advances toward Hryshyne.
Ukrainian defense forces are implementing various strategies to counter the enemy’s offensive plans, including intensified aerial reconnaissance, mining potential routes for enemy advancement, and blocking logistics.
In the area of responsibility for the Eastern military command, Russian losses have been significant, with 272 soldiers reported killed in the last day. Furthermore, 2,086 drones of various types have been destroyed, along with 37 units of other weaponry and equipment.
Ukrainian forces are not only focused on eliminating enemy infantry but are also targeting drone operators. In the past day, 37 command points for Russian drones were hit.
Hryshyne, part of the Pokrovsk community, is located less than 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk. This settlement remains a priority target for Russian forces in the Pokrovsk direction. Capturing Hryshyne would significantly complicate logistics for Ukrainian defense forces in the area.
Military sources report that the enemy is attempting to breach the central part of Hryshyne, attacking Ukrainian positions from both the northern and southern flanks.
On March 14, the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces reported that despite the challenging operational environment, Ukrainian troops are successfully holding back the enemy’s advance within the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
Currently, the 7th Corps continues to maintain strategically important positions and is conducting active search-and-strike operations directly within the settlement.
Ukrainian forces are effectively resisting Russian attempts to capture Hryshyne and surrounding areas in the Donetsk region. Despite ongoing assaults, they are maintaining key positions and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.
