Ukrainian defenders have successfully thwarted a planned Russian strategic offensive operation that was set for this March. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this development, expressing gratitude to the troops who continue to hold the front lines and combat the invaders.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces have disrupted the Russian strategic offensive operation that the enemy had planned for this March,” Zelensky stated. He emphasized that while enemy assaults are ongoing, their scale and intensity do not match what was anticipated by Russian leadership.
Zelensky pointed out the significance of this achievement, stating, “Our strength at the front is a reflection of all Ukrainian positions, our communication with the world, and our diplomacy, which enables the global community to stand with us, regardless of the challenges we face.”
On March 16, the president also spoke with General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, acknowledging the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers. “There is much to commend our warriors for. Well done, guys,” he remarked.
In early March, Zelensky revealed that Ukrainian intelligence had obtained documents outlining Russian plans for 2026-2027. He noted that the enemy aims to fully occupy the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and continues attempts to advance in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk. Additionally, he mentioned that Russian forces are even eyeing the Odesa region.
The president stressed that these plans have no basis in reality, underscoring the resilience of Ukrainian forces in the face of ongoing aggression.
