Ukraine’s President Discusses Middle East Tensions and New Security Agreements

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has addressed the complex situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the need for new security agreements involving Ukraine. His comments come as the international community closely monitors ongoing tensions in the region.

Zelensky noted that while military actions are expected to decrease, political and diplomatic activities surrounding Iran will likely intensify. “We all see how difficult it is to stabilize the situation in the Middle East. Yes, it is true. There will be much political and diplomatic activity around Iran. We hope that military actions will be fewer,” he stated.

The president highlighted the global implications of the events in the region, particularly their impact on economic stability. He pointed to fluctuations in oil prices and stressed the importance of maintaining a downward trend. “This matters to everyone in the world due to market destabilization. Oil prices are decreasing now, and it is crucial not to disrupt this. The world wants stability, and people want security,” Zelensky remarked.

In addition, Zelensky revealed ongoing efforts by the National Security and Defense Council to collaborate with countries neighboring Iran. He mentioned that new agreements are being drafted and discussions for the next phase of these agreements are planned. “The Secretary of the NSDC has reported that he continues to work with countries near Iran, and there will be more of our Ukrainian security agreements: new drafts are already prepared. I have scheduled a meeting for Monday to discuss the second wave of these agreements. Ukraine is contributing to security, and in response, partners will contribute to strengthening Ukraine,” he concluded.

President Zelensky has outlined Ukraine's role in addressing Middle East tensions and announced new security agreements aimed at enhancing regional stability. His remarks underscore the global economic implications of the situation, particularly concerning oil prices.
