The administration of the White House, led by the current US President Joe Biden, may provide Ukraine with the last security aid of $6 billion before the inauguration of Donald Trump.
This was reported by Politico on Wednesday, November 6, with reference to the White House plan, which was described to journalists by two officials of the Biden administration.
According to American officials, this plan is the only option for the White House to continue sending equipment to Ukraine to fight the Russian invaders.

Politico writes that even with the implementation of this plan, there are many other problems. In particular, it takes months for ammunition and equipment to reach Ukraine after the aid package is announced. During that time, Trump can stop those shipments before they even get there.
“The administration could dip into stockpiles and ship equipment sooner, but it’s unclear whether the Pentagon would want to do that because it would affect its own readiness,” said former Defense Department budget official Mark Kancian.
As the publication explains, the money left over from the “April” aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $61 billion is divided into two blocks. In particular, it is $4.3 billion to replenish existing stocks and $2.1 billion to purchase weapons under contracts with American defense companies.
During President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s visit to the US in September, Biden instructed the Pentagon to allocate the remaining military aid to Ukraine, which had been approved by Congress, until the end of his term. However, it drew criticism from some Republicans.
CNN previously reported that Trump’s victory in the US presidential election could mean a reduction in aid to Ukraine. The TV channel notes that throughout their campaign, Trump and his vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, seriously questioned the continued commitment of the US to Kyiv, as the war unleashed by Russia has been going on for almost three years.
On October 31, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin announced the rapid provision of new security assistance to Ukraine.
On November 1, the United States announced a $425 million aid package to Ukraine, which included ammunition for NASAMS, HIMARS, and Stryker armored personnel carriers.

The US presidential election is brief
The US presidential election was held on November 5.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced his victory in the election in a speech to supporters in Florida. Foreign leaders, in particular, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, congratulated the Republican on his victory.
The AP agency’s own calculation, which is considered the most reliable platform for evaluating the winner of the election, confirmed that Donald Trump, winning in Wisconsin, won the 2024 US presidential election overall, securing the necessary 270 Electoral College votes.
