Zelensky commented on the statements of Ukrainian and foreign analysts about the sad figures that the Russians occupied a record amount of territory in October and answered why this became possible.
In the east, the situation is really difficult. There is a slow, but nevertheless pressing and advancing Russians. For various reasons: filling our brigades with trained people, filling and equipping brigades with weapons – all these processes were slow enough. You can’t just fill a brigade with people if it is waiting for one or another weapon. We have been waiting 12 months for some weapons to be delivered since they were approved by Congress
The president noted that in the east there are brigades in which the boys have been fighting for a long time.
“Very strong brigades. Their rotation is necessary. Other brigades must come to their places. Imagine, they are not staffed. Just throw them like meat? Like “Russians”? No one wants that. That’s why the guys get tired, leave. Because they shoot By KABs, everything is falling apart. They ask if they can take steps back, – the military leadership says: “Yes.” Because this is our general position: first of all, and then the land,” Zelensky assured.
He noted that people need to be sure that the rotation is going on, that they have another brigade behind them, armed and ready to attack.
“And then the Russians will be in the position in which we are in the east. This is what is really happening,” the President pointed out.
“We talked about the number of brigades, but their filling and staffing is very slow. We filled it with internal production, but not all,” said Zelensky.
