The draft law supplements the list of individual branches of the Defense Forces with the position of the Force of Unmanned Systems. Currently, the separate forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine include Special Operations Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, Logistics Forces, Support Forces, Medical Forces

In June, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council dated June 25, 2024 “On the creation of unmanned systems forces as a separate type of force in the structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
On May 7, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the draft decree of the President of Ukraine, developed by the Ministry of Defense together with the General Staff, on the creation of a separate type of troops in the Armed Forces – Unmanned Systems Forces.
Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov appointed Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi as commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
In September, the Verkhovna Rada adopted draft law No. 11507, which provides for the inclusion of unmanned systems forces in separate branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
