A meeting was held between the presidents of Ukraine and France. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reports UNN.

This is already the eighth meeting of leaders this year, which once again confirmed the importance of cooperation between the two countries at a difficult time.

During the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his condolences in connection with the recent tragedies on the island of Mayotte, which were caused by the cyclone “Shydo”.

The leaders discussed a number of issues, key among which were military aid and the needs of Ukrainian defenders at the front.

Zelensky thanked France for the already provided support, which in total amounts to more than 5 billion euros, as well as for participation in international coalitions in support of Ukraine, in particular in the Rammstein format. In addition, the creation of a second strategic reserve brigade in Ukraine with the support of the French side was discussed.

In addition to military issues, the presidents also discussed Ukraine’s European integration path. Zelensky expressed gratitude for France’s support in this direction, which is important for the future of the European community.
