He stated that Odesa, like the whole of Ukraine, persevered despite the trials and continues to fight for freedom and a peaceful future.
“Odesa has changed in different ways. It has become more Ukrainian, it has become more resilient, stronger. Because these shellings, these attacks on that city, which the Russians once considered almost their own and said that Odesa is our city, and the patriotism they showed Odesa, like many Ukrainian cities in this direction, of course it gives strength to me as well as to our region and to all Ukrainians.
We have shown that we are a strong nation, a nation that loves its land. And it’s not within the Odesa region, it’s within the country. The whole world recognized that there is such a nation, a country that will always be,” he said.
Kiper added that Ukrainians remember every hero and every victim.
“People are the most important thing in our country and in the whole world, their life and health are the highest value. But you will never get used to deaths, to the deaths of children. All the destruction can be rebuilt, but people’s lives cannot be restored .
In particular, on March 2 of this year, when 5 children died, when our rescue services spent almost a day extracting children from the rubble in the hope that they were alive, those were very difficult moments. And there were, unfortunately, many such moments during these 1,000 days,” he says.
Kiper also thanked everyone who stands in defense of the Ukrainian land and supports the people.
“Our boys and girls have done the impossible in almost three years. If you compare small Ukraine with the Russian Federation, if you compare the population, our boys and girls, the state and the people have really done something incredible.
Part of the territory is still occupied. But let’s remember how the Russians planned to take Kyiv in three days. With the forces of our defenders, we will turn everything back,” he added.
