Two U.S. officials reportedly told CBS News that Russia launched a ballistic missile, not an ICBM, on Thursday, with one of them saying it was most likely an intermediate-range ballistic missile launched from east of Volgograd toward the Dnipro.
“If so, it would be a flight path of about 500 miles,” the message said.
A Western official also told CBS News on Thursday that ICBMs were not used in the strike.
