Umerov on the draft law on demobilization: “We are working in this direction” Defense Minister Umerov reported on the work on the draft law on the rotation and demobilization of the military. Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov, commenting on the issue of the draft law on rotation and demobilization, noted that they are working in this direction. He also emphasized that the priority at the moment is the defense of Ukraine. He said this during the briefing, reports UNN.

When asked at what stage is the development of the draft law on rotation and demobilization, Umyerov answered:

“The priority now is to defend the country, we see that the enemy is increasing the number of personnel. We recently worked together with the Commander-in-Chief, with the Chief of the General Staff in the Verkhovna Rada, met with the leaders of the factions, discussed this issue. That is, we are working in this direction.”

Earlier, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, stated that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine plans to complete work on the draft law on determining the procedure and conditions for the release of servicemen from service by December 18 this year.

In July of this year, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, stated that the Ministry of Defense does not know whether demobilization is possible now, because it depends on very theoretical and practical factors.
