Zelenskyi commented on proposals from allies regarding the need to lower the mobilization age. In particular, the president emphasized the insufficient provision of military equipment on the part of the partners.
“You know, I won’t say a very specific number, because it’s dangerous, but we have more than 100 brigades on the battlefield. And each of these brigades needs manning on a daily basis – armored vehicles, artillery equipment, everything that is needed in each brigade, plus artillery divisions and other different equipment. And in all of them, something constantly breaks down, and therefore, when we are talking about increasing the number of our people, we must understand, first of all, that there is currently no adequate staffing of brigades. We must staff our brigades with appropriate equipment,” Zelenskyi said.
Zelenskyi also noted that the Ukrainian military needs not only technical equipment, but also appropriate training for the effective conduct of hostilities.
“A person should not just be protected, but should have appropriate weapons, appropriate knowledge. And it seems to me that partners should first of all saturate the Ukrainian army with this,” the president emphasized.
