UAH 27 million were “overpaid” for the purchase of spare parts for combat aircraft: two officials of the Logistics Forces were exposed

The law enforcement officers exposed the officials of the Armed Forces who “overpaid” 27 million budget hryvnias for the purchase of spare parts for combat aircraft, reports UNN with reference to the SBU.

Counter-intelligence of the Security Service and NABU detectives exposed two officials of the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for corruption.

According to the case materials, during the years 2022-2023, those involved signed contracts for the purchase of aviation spare parts for Ukrainian combat aircraft, which caused losses to the budget of Ukraine in the amount of UAH 27.3 million.

As the investigation established, officials of the Ministry of Defense purchased spare parts at an unreasonably high cost from a controlled intermediary company.

For its victory in the tender, the participants involved several more affiliated commercial structures, including those with foreign registration.

In this way, officials created the appearance of competition, under the guise of which they secured a contract with the “necessary” company.

According to the available data, the received “excess profit” was hidden by the participants of the scheme through a network of controlled companies.

On the basis of the collected evidence, both officials were notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy).

The issue of selecting a preventive measure for them is being resolved. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The suspects face up to 6 years in prison.
