Experts note that for the first time information about changes in strategic air-based cruise missiles “X-101” appeared in early May 2024, and their first use was recorded already the following month. Specialists of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Examinations said that equipping the Kh-101 missiles with a cluster warhead, in addition to the high-explosive one, became possible due to the reduction of the fuel tank.
KNDISE director Oleksandr Ruvin noted that due to the lack of high-tech components, the Russians have to replace high-tech components with the Kh-101 missiles. In particular, they will attach targeting units from Orlan-10 drones to them.
