Now there is an attempt to eliminate the Russian so-called “bridgehead” on the banks of the Oskil River in Kharkiv Oblast. This is not a bridgehead in the classical sense, but a certain number of the enemy who were able to penetrate and cross the river and are now hiding on the landings. Defense forces are trying to catch them and fully regain control over the river bank. Viktor Tregubov, the spokesman of the “Khortytsia” OSU, told about this on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

“Attempts of the occupiers to force the Oskil continue, but this is a water force. In our reports, somewhere from 1 to 3 damage to the watercraft appear in a day,” said Tregubov.

He noted that these are usually small boats used by the occupiers to cross to the other side.

“Now there is an attempt to eliminate their bridgehead on the shore, but it is not a bridgehead in the classical sense – it is rather a large number of people who have settled on landings and in populated areas, that is, these are not equipped positions, but a certain number of the enemy who managed to penetrate and cross over river and are now hiding on landings, trying to somehow coordinate their actions,” Tregubov said.

He said that the Defense Forces are trying to catch the Russians there.

“On the other hand, the Ukrainian troops are trying to catch them there and fully restore control over the river coast, so that we no longer have to worry about the fact that some group can infiltrate or hide somewhere,” said Tregubov.

“I had to explain to people that it was not about a breakthrough, but about a partial infiltration of individual units, which in the end we eliminated,” Tregubov said on the air of the telethon.

On January 6, the head of Kharkiv OVA Oleg Synegubov reported that the Russians tried to destroy the crossing from the left bank to the right bank of the Oskil River, thereby complicating the delivery of humanitarian goods and evacuation measures.
