Although there are currently no unusual situations on the border with Belarus, the tension does not disappear. Ukraine is actively strengthening its defenses, and border guards are preparing for possible threats, because a neighboring country that supports Russia continues to keep troops near our borders.

This was stated by the spokesman of the State Security Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko during the briefing, reports the correspondent UNN.

The tasks of the State Border Service are diverse, and our border units perform them even in difficult directions, in particular, on the front line, on the border with Russia and Belarus. They also provide protection of the state border with the countries of the European Union and on the border with Moldova. Each of these directions is significantly different from each other

Regarding the border with Belarus, as the spokesman noted, no changes in the situation are currently observed.

As mentioned earlier, this direction is a priority and important, since Belarus continues to support the terrorist country Russia. It maintains its units near the border, although their number is insignificant both in terms of number and composition. However, according to Demchenko, these units are in the direction of our border, demonstrating that Belarus expects a threat from Ukraine.

“In its statements, including Lukashenko’s, Belarus shifts the responsibility to Ukraine, forgetting that it was Ukraine that at one time opened the border for Russian troops that invaded our territory,” the DPSU spokesman added.

He emphasized that there are currently no unusual situations on this part of the border. However, Ukraine continues to build up its defense capabilities, both in terms of engineering and fortification, in order to be ready to counter any threat if the situation changes.

Separately, Demchenko noted that the intelligence units of Ukraine, in particular the DPSU and the Ministry of Defense, are carefully monitoring the situation and analyzing possible threats.

The spokesman also added that there are currently no Russian units or troops on the territory of Belarus that could form a strike group to invade the territory of Ukraine.
