“As a result of enemy shelling, one of the two power lines of the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP was de-energized. Currently, the plant is connected to the Ukrainian power system by only one power transmission line,” the Ministry of Energy reported.
In the event of disconnection of the last line at the Zaporizhzhia station, as indicated by the Ministry of Energy, “another complete blackout will occur.”
This, as noted, is a serious violation of the conditions of safe operation and threatens the development of an accident.
“For the second time this week, there is a real threat of a blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP due to Russian shelling. Today, a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors will take place in Vienna, and we insist on the immediate full implementation of the resolution to return the occupied plant to the control of Ukraine. Only in this way can the safe operation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP be guaranteed.” – Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko noted.
As reported by the Ministry of Energy, the energy workers will start restoring full power to the station, which is the only way the security situation will allow.
