“The Security Service of Ukraine, together with partners from other law enforcement agencies, in order to combat crimes that pose a threat to state security, territorial integrity and defense capability of our country, conducted a series of large-scale implementations and detentions during January 18-20. During this period, SBU employees conducted complex procedural actions in 157 criminal proceedings. As a result of these measures, 222 persons were notified of suspicion, 85 of them – detained,” the SBU reported.
It is noted that according to the SBU materials, the suspicion was reported:
19 enemy agents who carried out reconnaissance and sabotage activities for the benefit of the Russian special services;
39 persons involved in crimes in the military sphere, including persons involved in embezzlement of defense state budget funds;
63 persons, including employees of the TCC, former MSEK and VLK, as well as medical institutions, who are suspected of implementing “evasive schemes” and organizing illegal border crossings;
7 persons who harmed state security in the information sphere and cyberspace, including anti-Ukrainian propagandists;
24 persons who harmed the economic interests of the state;
7 persons involved in the illegal circulation of weapons and means of military destruction.
In total, 287 searches were conducted within the framework of these criminal proceedings.
