“The most critical moment in the defense of Kyiv was during the battles for Moshchun – Syrskyi. The Russians planned a large-scale crossing of the Irpin, but Ukrainian troops destroyed the crossings and forced the enemy to retreat.”, — write on: unn.ua
There were many of them (critical moments – ed.), but in my opinion, the most critical moment was when the battles for Moschun were going on. It was at night, when the enemy was preparing to cross at least a battalion, because there was a large amount of equipment, 5 pontoon-bridge crossings were made across the Irpin and the enemy was preparing to cross the river and proceed to large-scale combat operations in Moschun. He already had about a dozen marines and about 15-20 BMD units that were on our side, on the right bank of the Moschun. It was probably the most critical moment when the equipment started moving towards me, I saw it on the monitor, it was filmed from a drone, and we saw it in the thermal imager, it was around 10 p.m., that is, it was dark, the cars stood out. When the cars started to move, we opened fire with everything we had: the artillery fired
He noted that the main task then was to destroy the crossings.
These cars left, and when the first enemy car turned right and went along the battle lines of armored vehicles towards Gostomel, I did not even believe that this was possible, because they were preparing for the worst case scenario,
Holovkom also added that the enemy did not go through the crossings, because the Ukrainian military managed to destroy two of the enemy’s crossings, there were three remaining, but the Russians abandoned their intentions.
Then the situation began to improve in the following days and eventually the enemy dropped their equipment and fled from Moschun,
We will remind
Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 82. The enemy is actively operating in the Pokrovsky direction, and is also shelling Ukrainian military positions in Kurshchyna.
