Details

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Bohdan Drapyaty, informed about the development of the draft law.

In particular, there is currently a rule that the pre-trial investigation in such cases is carried out by the investigator at the place where the criminal offense was committed. However, the majority of cases of disappearance of missing persons occur in regions where active hostilities are taking place

In particular, the investigation in such cases will be determined by the prosecutor based on the applicant’s place of residence or stay. This norm will be in effect during martial law and for three years after its termination.

For example, if a person has gone missing in Donetsk region, and his relatives are in Zakarpattia region, they will be able to file a complaint with the local police based on the decision of the prosecutor

We will remind

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the draft law on terms of service will be adopted only after training units to replace soldiers at the front. The First Deputy Minister of Defense emphasized that there are no other options.
