According to Umerov, the adoption of the plan is an important step for strengthening the maritime security of our country.
The purpose of the document is to ensure the fulfillment of tasks and goals defined by the Strategy, which was approved by the National Security Council and put into effect by the Presidential Decree.
As Umerov said, the main tasks of the plan are:
- ​strengthening the capacity of the security and defense sector of Ukraine, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Maritime Guard of the DPSU to counter aggression and respond to other threats to maritime security;
- ​deoccupation of the temporarily occupied territories of the coast, inland waters and continental shelf of Ukraine;
- ​receiving compensation for the losses caused by the aggressor and restoring the sea and river infrastructure damaged as a result of the war.
