Switzerland has announced a new aid package for Ukraine in the amount of almost 45 million francs (about 50 million dollars). This is reported by the Federal Council of Switzerland UNN.

Details

These funds are used to restore the destroyed energy infrastructure, repair damaged housing and meet the humanitarian needs of the population affected by large-scale Russian attacks. In particular, the country is focusing on providing heat and electricity for millions of Ukrainians during the winter period.

Specialists of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Corps are already working in different regions of Ukraine. They help repair heat pumps, generators and power plants. Particular attention is paid to cities such as Odesa, where thanks to Swiss funding it was possible to ensure the operation of hospitals, schools and vital infrastructure even in the cold months.

In addition to emergency aid, Switzerland supports long-term energy efficiency projects.
