The visit began in Lviv, where Albers met with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities. Its program included diplomatic talks, reconstruction support and humanitarian initiatives. This space, created with the support of Spain and UNESCO, is intended to promote the development of culture even in the face of military challenges.

An important part of the visit was a meeting with Ukrainian colleague Andriy Sibiga, where the parties discussed the security situation and the continuation of military assistance, including the supply of weapons and training of Ukrainian military in Spain. About 7,000 servicemen have already been trained within this support.
The Minister also confirmed the adamant support of Ukraine’s European integration course, noting that Spain was and remains a supporter of its accession to the European Union. He stressed that peaceful settlement is impossible without taking into account the position of Ukraine, and the security of Europe is inextricably linked to Ukrainian sovereignty.
Finting his visit, Albers honored the memory of the dead in the Lviv Cemetery and visited the historic city center together with UNESCO and the Ukrainian Government. He also visited Festrepúblik’s artistic space, symbolizing the resistance of the culture before the challenges of the war.
