“the Russian Federation can keep Onyx and Zircon missiles in the Caspian Sea – the spokesman of the Russian Navy in the Caspian Sea, the Russian Federation can place Onyx and Zircon missiles on carriers with unitary launchers. Unlike the Azov-Black Sea region, there are several cruise missile carriers there.”, — write on: unn.ua
This was stated by the spokesman of the Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a briefing UNN.
The Caspian also has cruise missile carriers. He is not alone there. And by the way, according to information that is still being verified, there are carriers that have unitary launchers
He emphasizes that, unlike the Azov-Black Sea region, here they have 8 carriers that are capable of launching only Calibres.
That is, on some other projects they already have unitary units that can theoretically launch Onyx and Zircons. And in the composition of the Caspian flotilla, perhaps, there are such samples. They have at least a few cruise missile carriers in the Caspian. Also, the technical characteristics allow, in principle, to use them from that water area, but we do not have confirmed cases in this regard
We will remind
Due to the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense since the beginning of the war, the effectiveness of the use of Kalibr missiles for Russia has significantly decreased, but these missiles remain a dangerous weapon.
