The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiga, received Tomasz Kopechny, the representative of the government of the Czech Republic for the restoration of Ukraine. The head of the diplomatic service also expressed sympathy and readiness to provide support to the Czech Republic in connection with the flood, which is causing significant destruction to a number of its districts, reports UNN with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The minister expressed gratitude to the Czech side for the comprehensive assistance provided to our country since the beginning of the full-scale Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, with a special emphasis on the Czech initiative to supply artillery shells to Ukraine.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed sympathy and readiness to provide support to the Czech Republic in connection with the flood, which is causing significant destruction to a number of its districts.

“The Czech Republic can count on our help – we are ready to send our rescuers and special equipment to the affected areas. This decision was made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, and with the coordination of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, we offered help to our partners. We are a state that is ready to help in difficult times friends”, Andrii Sybiga noted.

After that, a meeting was held with the Czech delegation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Yevhen Perebijnos, who expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian aid of the Czech Republic within the framework of the implementation of the “Program of Humanitarian, Stabilization, Reconstruction and Economic Assistance to Ukraine in 2023-2025”.

The Ukrainian side noted that the Czech projects implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Lviv regions have made a significant contribution to the restoration of the energy, medical and critical infrastructure of our country, destroyed as a result of Russian missile attacks.

Perebijnis also emphasized the importance of the Czech Republic’s assistance to the city of Kharkiv, which is under the constant terror of the aggressor state, in the form of the provision of Czech-made gas turbines and generators.

The deputy minister also emphasized the important role of the Czech Republic in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

The Ukrainian side relies on prompt delivery of artillery shells within the framework of the Czech initiative, as well as other types of weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition, Perebijnis expressed the interest of the Ukrainian side in the participation of official representatives of the Czech Republic and Czech companies in the Defense Industries Forum.

During the conversation, there was an exchange of views regarding the wider involvement of Czech investments in the economy of Ukraine and the readiness of the Government of Ukraine to assist Czech companies in opening their offices and production facilities in our country.

Perebijnys thanked Kopechny for his personal contribution to the implementation of projects for the restoration of Ukraine, as well as efforts to strengthen the Ukrainian-Czech partnership.
