“Even in 2021, the current President Biden, he offered me exactly this – to postpone the admission of Ukraine to NATO for 10-15 years, because it is not ready yet,” Putin told reporters, answering a question about what the president-elect’s team has Donald Trump, who is being formed, allegedly declares that the conflict can allegedly be frozen if Ukraine’s accession to NATO is delayed for 10-20 years.
According to the Russian dictator, during the conversation with Biden, he “replied that yes, Ukraine is not ready.”
“But you will prepare it and accept it. From the point of view of history – distance and time – this is one moment. For us, what is the difference – today, tomorrow or in 10 years,” Putin said.
He added that in this sense he is not familiar with the statements of the future Trump team. “But if this is so, what is the difference between the current administration and the proposals you just mentioned. There is no difference,” Putin said.
“I don’t know how this situation will develop further, what will be the attitudes of the elected president to his colleagues. We’ll see,” said the Russian dictator.
