“We have not yet seen any peace plan from President Trump. There are many reports in the press about one or another outcome, following the example of Finland or Germany — this is all speculation. We rule out the possibility of Polish military presence on the territory of Ukraine. We believe that such decisions should not to be adopted by a group of countries, NATO should play a key role,” he said.
Kosiniak-Kamysh also noted that Poland can consider further steps only after the end of the peace process, which, in his opinion, is impossible without the participation of Ukraine at the negotiating table.
“We will not introduce troops into Ukraine until the peace process is completed,” he added.
At the same time, the minister emphasized that Russia is the biggest threat to Europe after the Second World War.
“The threat from Russia (for Europe – ed.) is real. Ukrainians feel it every day,” Kosiniak-Kamysh emphasized, adding that Poland often puts its F-16s on standby.
We will remind
French President Emmanuel Macron proposed to station foreign troops on the territory of Ukraine before its accession to NATO. Experts note that such ideas exist, but their implementation remains uncertain.
Subsequently, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland is currently not considering the possibility of sending its troops.
