For a large-scale attack on Ukraine on the night of December 24-25, the Russian Federation used more than 10 sea-based missiles, but this did not come as a surprise to the Defense Forces, because preparations for the attack were observed before this. This was stated by the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, on the air of the telethon UNN.

“Given that it was possible to see the preparations for the strike, it was accordingly logical that the ships would also be used in this case. They sometimes leave the point basing to strike and immediately are turning back under the cover of their anti-aircraft defense on the shore,” Pletenchuk added.

In addition, according to him, there is still no information on the successful use of Kalibr missiles launched by Russian ships, which “confirms the thesis that the main purpose of using this tool is to load Ukrainian air defense and nothing more.”
