Missiles for air defense and HIMARS, additional air-to-surface missiles, anti-tank systems: what’s in the new US aid package

Missiles for air defense and HIMARS, additional air-to-ground missiles, anti-tank systems: that in the new US aid package, the US allocated a new package of military aid to Ukraine worth 2.5 billion dollars. The new package of military aid from the US included projectiles for air defense systems and HIMARS, air-to-surface missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, drones, etc. This was reported to the US Ministry of Defense, reports UNN.

“The Department of Defense announced additional security support to meet Ukraine’s critical security and defense needs. This includes authorizing a Presidential Reduction Order (PDA) package valued at $1.25 billion to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including: missiles for anti-aircraft defense; ammunition for rocket systems and anti-tank weapons,” the statement said.

In addition, the Department of Defense announced a Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) package worth about $1.22 billion to provide Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities.

In particular, the package includes:

ammunition for anti-aircraft missile systems (NASAMS);

HAWK anti-aircraft ammunition;

Stinger missiles;

anti-unmanned aerial systems (c-UAS) munitions;

ammunition for high mobility missile and artillery systems (HIMARS);

155 mm and 105 mm caliber artillery ammunition;

air-to-ground ammunition;

high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARM);

unmanned aerial systems (UAVs);

Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;

tube-launched, optically guided and wire-tracked (TOW) missiles;

firearms, ammunition and grenades;

explosive equipment and ammunition;

secure communication equipment;

commercial satellite imagery services;

medical equipment;

clothing and personal equipment;

spare parts, auxiliary equipment.
