The Air Forces Sergeant Eugene Behavizh knows what a real risk is. In the Kharkiv direction, under the tight fire of the enemy, he took out the wounded brother from under the blow of a hostile FPV-arom, despite mortar shelling and deadly danger. The history of the heroic deed of the soldier was published on the page of the Air Command “East”.
The village of Liptsi, which was liberated from the invaders for the second time, is of strategic importance. Hence the enemy could conduct artillery fire on Kharkiv, so keeping positions is critical.
Daily artillery duels, drones and small assault groups of Russians make the situation extremely intense. Logistics and rotation of the units are complicated-the enemy FPV-ovary operators control roads. It was in such circumstances that the Air Force Sergeant, Yevgeny Pozhikh, together with his brothers, was under a dense fire when he went to position.
When 50 meters remained to the destination, the enemy FPV-Dron dropped the grenade. One of the military, the Air Force fighter with the call sign “Doc”, suffered serious injuries. It had to be evacuated urgently.
– The brothers shouted that it was too risky, – says Eugene. – But there was no other way out.
Together with his friend, he began to carry the wounded, hiding behind the trees. However, the Russian drone noticed them and adjust the mortar fire.
– a real mortar began. The mine fell a few meters away from me. He was injured in his knee and face. If it were not for the means of protection, he would not survive, – Eugene recalls.
Despite the danger, the brother managed to bring to the evacuation machine.
Ukrainian soldiers continue to press on the occupiers, causing them significant losses. According to Eugene, the motivation of Ukrainian defenders is extremely high, and each of them knows what he is fighting for.
The sergeant in the Air Force ranks since 2006. After his release in 2019, he returned to civilian life for long, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion again began to the ranks of defenders. His wife also serves in radio technical troops, so he understands well what to be a military at this time.
Eugene is currently undergoing treatment. Ahead – medical commission and decisions of doctors. But his morale remained unbreakable:
– There is something to fight for. So forward – to victory!
