Since the beginning of the day, the number of combat clashes has increased to 138. It is the hottest now in the Kurshchyna, Pokrovsky, Kurakhivskyi and Vremivskyi directions. The defense forces take measures to prevent the advance of the enemy.

This is stated in the operational information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00 on December 18.

Today, the communities of settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, such as Semenivka, Yanzhulivka, Turya, Grabovske, Velyka Pisarivka and Ponomarenki, were affected by the fire of enemy artillery and mortars; the invader hit Krasnopil with anti-aircraft guns; unguided air rockets — along Oleksandrivka.

In the Kharkiv direction the enemy attack on the positions of our units in the Vovchansk region continues. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Vovchansky Khutor and Udy.

On the Kupyansk direction the Russian occupiers attacked the Defense Forces three times in the areas of Petropavlivka and Lozova. Two clashes are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers steadfastly hold the defense and inflict losses on the enemy.

On the Lymansky direction during the day, the invading army carried out 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Grekivka, Novoyehorivka, Nadia, Yampolivka, and Terni. Six clashes have ended, five more are ongoing.

Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by enemy troops in the Seversky direction, a battle is currently taking place near Verkhnokamyanskyi.

Three times the enemy tried to advance in the area of ​​Chasovoy Yar, Hryhorivka and in the direction of Bila Hora, the fighting continues.

On the Toretsky directionwith the support of aviation, the enemy is trying to penetrate our defenses in the area of ​​Toretsk, Dilyivka and Shcherbinivka, eight battles are ongoing.

In the Pokrovsky direction the Russian invaders made 27 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions in the Myrolyubivka, Promeny, Lysivka, Dachensky, Zeleny, Novovasylivka, Chumatsky, and Novoolenivka districts. The defense forces restrained the onslaught and repulsed 19 enemy attacks, eight clashes are still ongoing.

In the direction of Kurakhiv the enemy army attacked 14 times near the settlements of Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Kurakhove and Dachne. Nine attempts by the occupiers to advance have already been repulsed.

On the Vremivskyi direction 15 enemy attacks took place in the vicinity of Konstantinopolsky, Rozlyv, Velika Novosilka, Blagodatny, Novy Komar and Storozhevy. Six clashes are ongoing.

The enemy carried out offensive actions in the areas of Novoandriivka in the Orihiv direction, the attack was repulsed by Ukrainian units.

The operation is in progress in the Kursk region. Enemy aviation continues to raze their villages and cities to the ground. Since the beginning of the day, Russian aircraft have carried out 14 strikes (17 KAB) on their own territory. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 36 enemy attacks today, the fighting continues.

We will remind you that the Russian invaders lost 1,580 people last day. Also, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 4 tanks, 21 armored combat vehicles, 5 artillery systems, 64 UAVs of operational-tactical level, 60 vehicles and 2 units of special equipment.
