The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces for their constant work to protect the sky. The head of state stated this in his evening address.
He emphasized the importance of every success in shooting down Russian drones and missiles, in particular noting the shooting down of a ballistic missile in the morning, which saved the lives of Ukrainians.
The President thanked international partners for their help in the supply of anti-missile defense systems and expressed hope for an increase in the number of such supplies to strengthen mobile fire groups. Ukraine’s strategic goal, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is to establish its own production of air defense and anti-missile systems.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi also talked about his conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during which the supply of additional IRIS-T air defense systems was discussed. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in the Rammstein format, which has already brought significant benefits to Ukraine.
The head of state paid special attention to the situation at the front. He received a report from the commander Oleksandr Syrskyi, where the main emphasis was placed on the situation in Donetsk region and the attempts of the occupiers to expand the offensive in the Kupyansk direction.
The President thanked the Ukrainian brigades for their resilience and praised several units for their courage and effectiveness in combat operations.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported on active work on the internal Stability Plan of Ukraine, which will complement the Victory Plan presented to the partners. He noted that consultations with government officials and non-governmental organizations will continue in order to form a comprehensive doctrinal approach to the consolidation of all state forces.
As ArmiyaInform reported, Ukraine will receive the sixth IRIS-T air defense system from Germany by the end of the year.
