The security service detained a mobilized 45-year-old resident of Kharkiv, who was remotely recruited by the military intelligence of the Russian Federation in August of this year.

This was reported by the SBU on September 24.

According to the instructions of the occupiers, the person involved was supposed to adjust the air strike on one of the units of his brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“In exchange for this, the Russian special service promised to “evacuate” the agent to the aggressor country, where he planned to join the enemy army and fight against Ukraine. In order to direct fire, the suspect marked the “required” locations on the Google map and sent the corresponding screenshot to his Russian curator,” the message reads.

He also conducted preliminary reconnaissance near the combat positions of the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces, which the Rashists hoped to “bypass” during the missile attack.

“According to the instructions of the military intelligence of the Russian Federation, before enemy fire, the traitor was to arrive at a designated place on the front line, and the occupiers were to create a “corridor” for him to cross the front line,” the SBU said.

SBU employees worked ahead of time and, as soon as they documented the agent’s criminal actions, detained him at the stage of preparation for “evacuation” to Russia.

In addition, during the special operation, the SBU carried out comprehensive measures to secure the positions of Ukrainian troops, which completely disrupted the aggressor’s plans.

During the search, mobile phones were seized from the detainee, which he used to communicate with the Russian special service.

On the basis of the received evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

The perpetrator is currently in custody without bail. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As reported by ArmiyaInform, a deserter who “drained” the positions of the Armed Forces near Bakhmut was behind bars.
