First of all, we are talking about management positions in the structures:
- — Ministry of Defense of Ukraine;
- — Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- — Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Education and Culture;
- — State special transport service;
- — Department of State Security;
- — Security Services of Ukraine;
- — Foreign intelligence services;
- — State special communications;
- — State border service;
- — of the National Guard.
The document establishes a specific list of positions and the required language proficiency levels in accordance with the All-European recommendations and the NATO STANAG 6001 standard.
“For successful Euro-Atlantic integration, Ukraine needs highly qualified military specialists capable of implementing NATO standards, sharing our unique combat experience with partners and actively participating in international security initiatives. Knowledge of the English language is becoming critically important for the Ukrainian army – it is the key to effective interaction with allies and strengthening the defense capabilities of our country,” Deputy Minister of Defense Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk noted.
This decision will have a positive impact on the professional activities of servicemen of the officer, non-commissioned and non-commissioned ranks. It will also improve the professional interaction of military personnel in international military-technical cooperation events and bring Ukraine closer to membership in the EU and NATO.
Language requirements will be implemented in accordance with the Law “On the Use of the English Language in Ukraine”.
As ArmiyaInform reported, the procurement policy department of the Ministry of Defense has developed methodological recommendations for decentralized procurement in military units.
