A resident of Donetsk joined the illegal armed formation “Somalia” of the quasi-state terrorist organization “DNR” and took part in the occupation of the village of Velikiy Burluk, Kupyan district, Kharkiv region.

This was reported in the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

No later than October 2019, a 30-year-old man voluntarily joined the 1st separate battalion tactical group “Somalia”. As part of it, the militant took part in combat operations against Ukrainian defenders in the territory of Donetsk region.

After the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the terrorist of the pseudo-republic relocated to the Kharkiv region, where he took part in the occupation of the village of Velikiy Burluk, Kupyan district.

The man was sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Since the convicted person is still hiding from Ukrainian justice, the term of his sentence will begin to be calculated from the moment of his actual detention.

As long as he avoids serving the sentence imposed on him by court verdict, the statute of limitations is suspended.

Earlier, ArmiyaInform reported that the SBU detained a Kharkiv man recruited by Russia, who was coordinating strikes on the city.
