In the “Army+” application, the survey regarding the new head of the Sahaidachny National Academy of Ground Forces has been completed. The President emphasized the importance of this decision being made together with the military.
The Commander-in-Chief and Commander of the Ground Forces proposed five candidates, including Brigadier Generals Serhiy Baranov and Mykhailo Sydorenko, Colonels Yevhen Lasiichuk, Oleksandr Bakulin, and Roman Kachur.
Zelensky informed that the former commander of the 55th separate artillery brigade, Colonel Roman Kachur, received the most votes, adding that he knows the front well.

I instructed him to present to society what will change in the academy, to conduct an audit in the academy – a full-fledged audit: both how it is financed, and how the cadets study, and who works in the academy,
Zelensky instructed the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov to appoint Colonel Kachur to the position of head of the Academy.

Roman Kachur was born on September 25, 1984 in Sumy. He studied at the Sumy Military Institute of Missile Troops and Artillery.
In 2014-2018, Kachur served as the chief of artillery of the 81st separate airmobile brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and from March 2018 to July 2022, he was the commander of the 55th separate artillery brigade “Zaporizka Sich”.
Kachur is a Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of three degrees, and also has the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the “Golden Star” order.
