In Ukraine, they want to ban blocking the accounts of operators of critical infrastructure: a draft law has already been prepared

A draft law has been prepared on banning the blocking of accounts of operators of critical infrastructure, in particular, on the territory of hostilities during the period of martial law. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba during a meeting of the All-Ukrainian Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, reports UNN.

Kuleba commented on the issue of arrears for consumed electricity and gas, which causes constant blocking of accounts and seizure of property of critical infrastructure operators in Donetsk region, because critical infrastructure operators lack their own funds for priority payments.

Serhiy Dobryak, the head of the Pokrovsk city military administration of the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region, called to pay attention to the unblocking of critical infrastructure accounts and not to block them in the future, at least until the end of martial law.

“The Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories has prepared a draft of the law, where the relevant changes provide, in particular, during the period of martial law in the territory of hostilities, as well as in the territories determined by the Cabinet of Ministers, the prohibition of any actions that will block accounts. This draft law is currently in to the government, after that we will hand it over to the parliament,” Kuleba said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi added that he would ensure that this draft law was supported.

“We will do so in order to speed up the voting for this law, and I will also ensure that it is supported,” Zelenskyy said
