In the Defense Forces, there are cases where soldiers who are supposedly on the front lines pay their commanders not to be at ground zero. There are also cases where soldiers pay to go on leave or go through VLK, and there is also the problem of medal abuse. People’s deputy, head of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada (TSK) Anna Skorokhod stated this during a press conference on the activities of the temporary investigative commission on the problems of the military, reports UNN.

One of the problematic issues is corruption in the army. Corruption at both the low and the highest level. We have repeatedly worked out cases when money was demanded from ordinary soldiers, when we have lists of “dead souls”… For example, we have 100 people on the front line on the list, but in fact there are 60-70 of them, and the other 30 drop “a hundred ” on a relative’s card, or simply drop money somewhere to the commander so as not to be on the front line. She also talked about the issue of awards.

“We also considered the issue of awards. We have awarded all staff officers – they are hung with medals like Christmas trees. They have awards for two days at the front. At the same time, the guys who have been sitting and holding landings for years, defending our country, have nothing. Or have some certificate, which you can only rub off somewhere. And at the same time, when you apply for an award, the documents are always lost somewhere. For your own, all the awards, all the awards, everything is collected.” , – added Skorokhod.

According to her, there are also manipulations with an additional monetary award.

“… not only at the level of company, combatant and brigade commander, … even in the highest military command. We considered a case of a troop group, when the commander of a troop group counted himself a “hundred” in addition, that he was on the front line, never there while staying,” said the People’s Deputy.
