Both affected objects are large fuel producers for the Russian army. The Volgograd Refinery processes almost 6% of all oil in the Russian Federation, and Astrakhan GPZ is one of the key energy facilities of the Russian Federation, which processes 12 billion gas condensate annually.

According to the sources, the Volgograd plant of the SBU and SCOs “fun” were “Factory economy, installations of primary processing №2 and №3, as well as technological installations №20 and №21. The Astrakhan GPZ damaged the gas condensate processing complex. There is a fire there, the work of the plant was stopped, the workers were evacuated.
