Details
“21% said that they plan to go abroad for permanent residence under such circumstances. While 70% said that they have no such intention,” the analyst said.
According to the expert, among men, the share of those who want to emigrate is 25%, while among women – only 17%. This difference is attributed to the fact that the borders have been open to women since the start of the full-scale war, and most of those intending to leave have already done so.
Also, the study revealed that young people aged 18-29 more often express a desire to emigrate – 33%. On the other hand, this indicator decreases in older age groups: among respondents aged 60+, only 9% are ready to leave the country.
The main reason for leaving Ukraine was cited by the expert as the lack of opportunity for development (30.5%).
Other reasons were related to the consequences of the war. This is a threat to health and life as a result of hostilities (28.6%), insufficient social support from the state (28.6%), for reunification with relatives who have already left (26.2%).
Addition
1,518 respondents over the age of 18 were interviewed in the survey conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation together with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.6%.
We will remind
The number of Ukrainians ready to endure war “as long as necessary” decreased from 63% to 57% over the past two months. The largest decrease is observed in the west and center of the country, while the south and east have even improved.
