UAH 15 billion not used this year to help internally displaced persons will be transferred to the “eRecovery” program.
According to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, People’s Deputy, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and International Relations Serhiy Kozyr told about this.
He noted that Law No. 11028, recently adopted in the second reading and already signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, gives IDPs the priority right to receive compensation under the “eRecovery” program. In addition, this document provides for the allocation of this year’s unrealized funds from assistance to IDPs to the “eRecovery” program.
“We are talking about UAH 15 billion. This is a significant amount, because it will allow about 10 thousand. families to get new housing, to rebuild houses destroyed or damaged as a result of the war,” the politician said.
He added that the other day at the Prime Minister’s meeting, they agreed to extend Resolution No. 323, as a result of which support for IDPs who receive so-called housing compensation will be extended for another six months.
Also, in the budget for the next year, about UAH 4 billion has been set aside for a new pilot program of housing rental subsidies for IDPs. In addition, a corresponding resolution is currently being prepared, which provides for its implementation on the entire territory of Ukraine, and not in 9 front-line regions, as was previously planned.
“It is important to emphasize that the budget for the next year has increased housing assistance for IDPs by UAH 1 billion. Therefore, the state policy regarding the financing and support of immigrants remains stable and consistent. The Verkhovna Rada is moving in this direction synchronously with the Cabinet of Ministers,” said the People’s Deputy. Last year, the Parliament created a Temporary Special Commission on the Protection of Property and Non-property Rights of IDPs and other persons affected by the war, which works closely with the Cabinet of Ministers on support for displaced persons.
Parliament is working with the government to make the criteria under which internally displaced persons can receive state support more flexible.
It will be recalled that under the program “eRecovery” more than 70,000 families received compensation for damaged housing and almost 5,000 applicants received housing certificates for the purchase of a new one.
Earlier it was reported that in Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, the first suspicions were announced in the criminal proceedings about fraud with compensations under the state program “eRecovery”.
It will be recalled that almost 7 billion hryvnias were additionally allocated for the payment of compensations agreed under the “eRecovery” program. Most of this sum will be received by the owners of the destroyed houses – more than UAH 4 billion, the rest – will be spent on compensation for housing repairs.
We previously wrote that Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called on the authorities of Ukrainian cities to install alternative energy sources to ensure uninterrupted power supply of critical infrastructure facilities.
We will also remind you that in June 2024, the growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine slowed down by 1.1%. As a result, for the first half of the year, the growth of the Ukrainian economy is estimated at the level of 4.1%.
