At the Hardovy ATR tournament 1000 in Mayama Belgie Zizu Bergs (ATP 51) in 1/32 beat the neutral Andriy Rublev (ATP 9) with a score of 7: 5, 6: 4, and thus won the first victory over a tennis player from the TOP-10.
During a post -match interview, Zizu did not hold back his emotions.
“Honestly, I don’t know what to think. For me, it’s just a very emotional day. Three years ago, on this day, my grandfather (crying) died. I played here against Kokkinakis and lost 7: 6 in the third set.
And then I went to the locker room and learned about this news. So today this victory over the player from the TOP-10 is simply incredible (crying). ”
On March 24, Bergs will play with Italian Matteo Berretini in the 1/16 finals.
