Details: According to the information of the people’s deputy, during the performance of official duties, the former official could have committed violations during the conclusion and execution of contracts in the energy sector. This concerns, in particular, the advance payments of state enterprises for significant amounts, the works for which were not completed in full or were not documented.

At the same time, the Bureau draws attention to the fact that NABU has already conducted a pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings from January 5, 2021, based on the facts stated in the deputy’s statement. Also, the Main Investigative Department of the State Security Bureau also conducted an investigation into a similar fact from May 5, 2021, in which the investigation was determined by NABU.
Literally: “Considering this, in cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office, it was decided to transfer the deputy’s statement to NABU in accordance with the fourth part of Article 218 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
We emphasize: the Bureau was interested in understanding the situation as quickly as possible and establishing the truth, but the law clearly defines the consequences of such proceedings. That is why the materials were transferred to NABU, which has the authority to complete the investigation.
We expect that our colleagues will thoroughly investigate all the circumstances, and if necessary, the SBI is ready to provide any assistance within the limits of the law.”
