Details: At the press conference, Zelenskyi said about the “extremely important agreement” with Greece regarding the supply of gas to Ukraine, adding that against the background of Russia’s shelling of the energy infrastructure, Kyiv needs gas imports.
“Our agreements with Greece today are an important part of a large energy package that could be prepared for this winter to provide Ukraine with gas,” the head of state said.
He added that the gas supply from Greece will start already in January 2026.
In addition, Zelenskyy said, Ukraine and Greece have concluded long-term agreements on the supply of liquefied natural gas from the United States.
The Greek Prime Minister, in his turn, announced that gas deliveries will take place with the help of an “important energy artery” that connects the Greek city of Alexandroupolis with Odesa.
“Thus, Ukraine gets access to reliable sources of energy, and Greece becomes a hub for the supply of American liquefied gas to Central-Eastern Europe,” Mitsotakis said.
