Zelenskyi: There may not be a “peace agreement”, which is not only on paper

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the agreement on the end of the war is valid when it exists not only on paper, but is actually implemented, and at the moment it does not exist, therefore, there is a probability that it will not happen.

Zelensky’s direct speech: “Peace is better than war, but not at any price, because we have already paid a high price. It is important for us to have a just, strong peace, so that it cannot be violated by another desire of Putin or another Putin. It is very important that there are strong security guarantees for this, to make impossible even the thought and physical possibility of coming to us with aggression. It should not be just an agreement – good, bad – a question for who is good, for whom bad? I don’t want to characterize it. It may not exist today, there is no agreement today, when it is not only written in letters, but the war is stopped.”

Details: The President cited the example of the Budapest Memorandum. “We were not protected by this agreement. So, I do not think that it is strong or effective. Therefore, for me, the agreement is not just a signing,” he emphasized.

“The agreement, by the way, contains several agreements, several documents, security guarantees for the US and Europeans, which must be voted on and supported in Congress. And we also need to know in detail what will happen if the Americans, Europeans come with aggression from Moscow, how will I insure the Ukrainians, how will the partners be insured?… I believe that the agreement should be fair and effective for Ukraine,” Zelenskyy added.

• Simultaneously Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian authorities cannot think that the current peace process may fail.
• In turn the head of the ruling faction of the “Servant of the People” party, David Arakhamia, stated that mthere is currently no desire to conclude a “good peace agreement” with Russia, we are talking about a very bad agreement or its absence and the continuation of the war,
