“It’s good that the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Fico, has already returned from a vacation in a luxurious hotel in Vietnam and is in Bratislava. Apparently, it is not easy for him personally – instead of lining up, now he is trying to correct his own mistakes. It was an obvious mistake of Fico – to hope that his shady schemes with Moscow will exist indefinitely,” said Zelensky.
He recalled that Ukraine offered its assistance to the people of Slovakia during the adaptation to the absence of gas transit from the Russian Federation, “but Fico himself arrogantly refused.”
“Many people in Europe warned him that you can’t just do nothing and wait. Now he is trying to use PR, lies and loud accusations to shift the blame from himself to someone else. Zelenskyi expressed hope that the further diversification of energy supply sources to Europe, cooperation with the European Commission, as well as the implementation of President Trump’s policy to increase the supply of American gas to the continent will help overcome the problems that arise “due to the short-sightedness of individual European figures.”
Yesterday, January 11, he called President Volodymyr Zelensky a “beggar” and an “unreliable partner”, unlike the Russian Federation, which “never deceived Slovakia”.
Before that, Fico blackmailed him by saying that Slovakia could stop supplying electricity to Ukraine if Kyiv did not agree to restore the transit of Russian gas through its territory.
