“Today, the Russians carried out another barbaric shelling of Kherson. In general, we can see the activation of the occupier in the Kherson direction. I would like to thank the units that are defending these positions of ours. Attempts by Russian movements were repelled there,” he said in an evening video message.
“A number of Telegram channels publish fake messages that a forced evacuation has been announced in Kherson. This is not true. The region is under constant attacks from the enemy army and the Russians are constantly trying to cross to the right bank. Please, let’s not panic. The evacuation procedure currently remains unchanged,” he wrote in a telegram.
On November 11, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that Kherson was returning to the control of the Ukrainian army. The Russian military retreated from the right bank of the Dnieper, where, in particular, the regional center is located. The occupation of Kherson and the right-bank part of the region lasted for eight months.
Currently, Russian troops are shelling the de-occupied part of Kherson Oblast, in particular the regional center, every day. Despite the evidence and testimony, Moscow has denied a targeted attack on civilians since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
